roads

SA roads have been neglected.

SPEED CAMERAS - should not be used to raise revenue for the state.   I believe speed is not the major cause of accidents on metropolitan roads, rather poor roads, parked cars on main roads causing constant merging and unmerging, tailgating and inattention.   Fines and taxes do not generate wealth, it only redistributes it.

SPEED LIMITS ON MAIN ROADS - should be increased to 70km/hr - 80km/hr.  Main roads should be improved to handle appropriate speeds ie being broad and straight where possible.

HIGHWAY SYSTEM -  It's time to start planning a high speed road network to properly connect Adelaide.  Planning for transport corridors will never be a bad investment.  Imagine travel time we'd save if had kept the MATS plan from the 60's.   This is an issue that will never get easier - we are still going to have to deal with traffic in 20 years time.

A well connected roadwork increases the opportunity for competition and efficiency from businesses - producing better prices or services for consumers.
